The African Chamber of Commerce in China (AFCHAM) successfully held their first networking event last May 17,2016 at XNode Coworking Space in Downtown Shanghai. The event was organized by NextStep in partnership with AFCHAM, and was attended by representatives from different sectors, as well as investors and individuals who were interested with opportunities available in African Countries.
AFCHAM Chairman D. Nkwetato led the event, announcing the stategic partnerships that AFCHAM was developing with both private sectors and government institutions that will be mutually beneficial for companies, investors and individuals who are interested in opportunities available in Africa. Among the attendees were Nigerian Regional Investment and Trade Office represented by deputy Trade CommissionerMr. J. E Memuduaghan, and Mr. Kolawole O. Michael, CEO of Bridge Afrique Magazine, AFCHAM's main media partner.
One of the event's key note speaker and representative of the aviation industry, Mr. Jilles Djon, CEO of Bain Entreprises Bjark revealed that his company was investing a lot in drone technology use in Africa in the years ahead to bring development to enclave areas as well as tap resources from areas until now unreachable due to the lack of good roads. He drew a big applause as he handed over the mic after reiterating the focus of his group of companies on Africa.
